Petrol Mercedes SL-class: what changes with a remap
Factory petrol calibrations leave margin for poor fuel and hot climates. A remap tunes the ignition, fuelling and boost maps to make better use of that margin, which shows up as livelier throttle response and stronger acceleration.

Of the 11 petrol SL-class engines in our data, this one comes 4th for power gain, which is 4 bhp above the SL-class petrol average of 28 bhp.
Across our whole catalogue the average petrol remap adds 27 bhp and 51 Nm, so this engine's 32 bhp and 36 Nm sits at or above that benchmark.
